Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Maximus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Evan Reis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Reis has chosen Duality as his entrance music. Evan Reis will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Marcus Maximus! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Evan Reis! The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Alexandre Firmino and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Maximus fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Maximus moves out of range of the leg kick from Reis. Maximus fails with the takedown. Reis avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Maximus shoots for a double leg takedown but Reis sprawls well. He's pushed Maximus's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Marcus Maximus. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Maximus closes this distance looking for a takedown but Reis circles away. Reis steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Maximus.
That's one minute gone in the round. Maximus closes the distance and clinches up with Reis, looking for a takedown. Maximus pushes Reis against the cage but Reis circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Reis gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Maximus counters with a shoot takedown. Reis fights it but they end up in guard. Reis is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Maximus stands up over Reis, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Reis working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Maximus doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Maximus manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Maximus trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Reis trying to control the position.
Reis wants to sweep but no luck.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Reis avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Maximus postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Maximus landing some decent shots from guard. Reis escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Maximus gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Maximus looking to pass the guard. Maximus has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Maximus working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Reis's head. Reis lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Maximus! Maximus might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Reis landing strikes from the mount and Maximus is in trouble! Maximus is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Maximus chipping away with body shots but they're not going to hurt Reis. Maximus is looking to get to half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Reis lands with some strikes. Maximus is desperately trying to improve his position but Reis has a good base and remains in mount. Reis working for a guillotine from mount but Maximus is in no mood to give up. Maximus is trying desperately to improve position. Reis blocks Maximus's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom. Reis landing strikes from the mount and Maximus is in trouble! Maximus is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Reis trying to control but he's not successful this time. Reis prevents Maximus from getting the reversal. Reis quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Reis but it's paid off an Maximus is forced to tap! Nice work by Reis.
