Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kenny Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bruno Davol (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Davol has chosen Rammstein - Links 2 3 4 as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kenny Davis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bruno Davol! The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Seu Braga and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Davis is looking to score with low kicks. Davis throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Davol's waist but Davol gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Davis off to one side. Davis fails in his attempt to clinch. Davis tries to clinch but Davol moves out of range. Davol keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Davol shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Davol sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Davis's guard. Davol is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Davis reverses the position - he's now on top in Davol's guard. Davis pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Davol is keeping the position for now. Davol is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Davol lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Davis!

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Davol cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Davol goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Davis turns into him and now he's in Davol's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Davol keeping moving, preventing Davis from controlling successfully. Davol tries to land a sweep but no joy. Davol lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Davis! Davol throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. Davol has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Davol goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Davis is on top in guard.
Davis has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Davol tries to land a sweep but no joy. Davol manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Davis wants to hold on but Davol pushes him away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Davis tries to get back to half guard but can't. Davis gets back to half guard. Davol looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Davol looks gassed! Davol is looking to advance position but Davis won't allow it. Davis trying to control from the bottom.
Davol is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Davol wants to free his trapped foot but Davis is holding on for dear life with his legs. Davis moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Davol avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Davis wants to stand up but Davol is controlling him. Davis is trying to control the position but Davol postures up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Davol keeps the fight on the outside. Davis has his takedown stuffed and Davol counters with a takedown into side control. Davis gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Davol lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Davol goes for an armbar but Davis turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Davis. Davis wants to control from the top but Davol keeps moving. Davol has his foot on Davis's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Davis works his way back into a safe position though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Davol keeping moving, preventing Davis from controlling successfully. Davol is breathing heavily. Davol wants to sweep but no luck. Davis forces his way into half guard. Davis thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Davol's head. Davis wants to take a breather but Davol is having none of it. Davol tries to roll over but Davis keeps him under control. Davis is looking for a kimura but Davol is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Davis to get the leverage. Davol is not content to let Davis control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Davol moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Davis stopping the sweep attempt from Davol.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. A low kick from Davis misses and Davol counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Davis tries to score a body lock takedown but Davol shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Davis wants to get back to striking at distance but Davol won't allow it.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kenny Davis. That's going to take a lot out of him. Davis trying to stall but Davol improves his position.

Davis keeping full guard, as Davol tries to pass. Davol is pushing down on Davis's leg trying to pass to half guard. Davis is fighting to maintain full guard but Davol has managed to sneak the leg through. Davol wants to lay and pray for a moment but Davis keeps working. Davol is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Davis tries to roll over but Davol keeps him under control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bruno Davol showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!

No, Davis has escaped the position, nice work there. Davol goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Davis rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Davol's guard! Nice work there by Davis! Davis avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Davol takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Davol is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Davis is keen to just control but Davol is a slippery customer. Davol is looking to improve his position.
Davis is looking to take a break and control but Davol is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Davol keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. Davol is pressing down on Davis's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Davis trying to control but Davol is working from the bottom. Davol strikes from his own guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Davis is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Davis drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Davis jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Davol is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Davis wants to control from the top but Davol keeps moving. Davol is looking for a triangle but Davis pushes his legs off easily.
Davol throws his legs up looking for a submission but Davis uses it to pass to side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Davol sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Davol looking for submissions off his back. Davol is looking for a sweep. Davis is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Davol is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Davis jumps into side control! Davis is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Davol has escaped the position, nice work there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Davol is looking for a sweep. Bruno Davol has got the better of the ground game so far.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Davis looks to clinch and Davol counters with a nice double leg into side control. Davis won't be happy with that. Davis gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Davol is looking to pass Davis's guard but actually Davis recovers to full guard. Kenny Davis has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Davol trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Davis manages to land a sweep and now he's on top! Davol is trying to control the position from the bottom.
And that's the end of the fight! Bruno Davol comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Davol has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
