The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cassano misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Cassano misses with a two punch combination.
Cassano avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Thompson looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Thompson moves to clinch but Cassano breaks away
and Cassano counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Thompson tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Cassano manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Thompson fails with an attempt to clinch.
Thompson doesn't manage to clinch there - Cassano circles away.
Thompson wants to clinch up but Cassano keeps it at a distance.
Thompson moves to clinch but Cassano breaks away
and Thompson takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Cassano swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Cassano throws a hook but Thompson avoids it easily.
Cassano connects with the punch.
Thompson checks the leg kick nicely there.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Thompson tries to clinch but Cassano moves out of range.

Thompson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Cassano lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Thompson backs up against the cage.

Thompson tries to close the distance and clinch but Cassano swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Cassano lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Thompson circles away quickly and effectively.
Thompson takes a jab right on the kisser.

Thompson is rocked!
Thompson wants to clinch up but Cassano keeps it at a distance.
Thompson is still on wobbly legs! Can Cassano finish him?
Cassano fires a straight punch through the middle that cracks Thompson square on the jaw! Damn, Thompson is out cold on his feet and topples face first to the canvas! Wow, I haven't seen a knockout that brutal in a long time!
