Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jacob oMalley! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Mohammad Farooq! The judges for this bout are James Glass, James Atkins and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! oMalley moves into the clinch. Farooq fails to pull the fight into his guard.
oMalley is trying to trip Farooq. He has hold of a leg but Farooq is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. oMalley persists though and gets the takedown into guard. oMalley gets to his feet. Farooq looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! oMalley shoots in for a takedown and gets it. oMalley is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Farooq looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Farooq looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. oMalley is looking for a kimura but Farooq is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for oMalley to get the leverage.
That's one minute gone in the round. oMalley is working for a submission of some sort.
oMalley prevents Farooq from improving his position. oMalley wants to stand but Farooq has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. oMalley stands up from half guard. Farooq stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Farooq wants it to stay on the feet. oMalley is breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. oMalley has Farooq up against the cage in a clinch.
oMalley manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Farooq wants to control from the top but oMalley keeps moving. Farooq passes oMalley's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Farooq wants to take a breather but oMalley is having none of it. Farooq is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Farooq is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Farooq trying to control the action but oMalley is working from the bottom. Farooq is trying for a kimura here. oMalley looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Farooq wins by kimura!
