Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tom Brong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Riley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jimmy Riley is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tom Brong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jimmy Riley!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Elvis Blanc and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Riley stuffs the takedown attempt from Brong. Brong gets slowly back to his feet.
Brong swats away the attempt to clinch by Riley.

Brong fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Riley, pushing him back against the ropes.
Riley with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Brong has had enough of the clinch but Riley keeps him there for the moment.
Riley gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Brong.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Brong.
Brong drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Riley gets the underhooks and prevents it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tom Brong. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Brong lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Brong is looking to advance position but Riley won't allow it.
Brong is working hard here to advance position.
Riley pushes Brong off looking to stand but Brong dives back in and keeps control.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Brong is trying to control the action in half guard but Riley is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Brong seems to be working for a kimura but Riley defends the submission attempt.
Brong slips a nice elbow through Riley's hands, connecting with Riley's forehead.
Riley is looking to get back to full guard here but Brong has managed to pass to side control instead.
Brong in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Brong throwing strikes but missing, from side control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Riley is looking to regain half guard here but Brong keeps moving and retains side control.
Brong wants to lay and pray for a moment but Riley keeps working.

Brong is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Riley has escaped the position, nice work there.
Brong cracks Riley with an elbow. That is naaassty.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Riley avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Brong.
Brong working away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Brong is trying to get an arm triangle but Riley is defending well.
Riley is not content to let Brong control the position.
Brong lands a decent elbow from side control.

Brong has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Riley is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Brong yanks on the arm and Riley is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Brong.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 5:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Tom Brong!
Tom Brong decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
