Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Danny Hendo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dean Lister (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Danny Hendo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dean Lister!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Cecil Peabody and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hendo tries to clinch up.

Lister is looking for a triangle but Hendo pushes his legs off easily.

Hendo uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Lister tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hendo swats him away and circles back towards the center.

and Hendo decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Lister's guard.

Lister has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Hendo is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Lister.
Lister sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hendo is controlling the pace.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lister tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Hendo has advanced to mount. Uh oh.

Hendo tries to stand but can't do so whilst Lister controls his leg.

Hendo thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Lister's head.
Hendo is thwarting Lister's attempts to control the position.
Lister is pressing down on Hendo's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Hendo throws an elbow that misses. Lister uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Hendo's guard. Nice move by Lister!

Hendo on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Hendo tries to get out of the position.

Lister trying to control but Hendo is working from the bottom.

Lister with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Lister has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Hendo is proving hard to escape from.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hendo is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Lister dives into side control.

That was a close round but I would say that Danny Hendo will probably get the nod.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Lister jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Hendo walks away with a smile on his face. Lister gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Danny Hendo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dean Lister.

Hendo fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Lister sprawls well initially but Hendo persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Hendo lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Hendo is figuring out what he wants to do next.

and Hendo counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Hendo tries to close the distance and clinch but Lister swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Hendo tries to close the distance and clinch up but Lister swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Hendo's corner calls for a 1-2. Hendo obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Hendo with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Lister to score with a decent uppercut.

Dean Lister's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

Well Hendo has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
