Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between GURUTUBA BEBUM (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cheick Kongo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kongo has chosen Hakim as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Mauricio Rocha and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
BEBUM tries to clinch up but Kongo circles away and keeps his distance.
Kongo connects with a good right hand that stumbles BEBUM. BEBUM circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Kongo rushes BEBUM and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
BEBUM drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Kongo gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Nice elbow from Kongo.
Kongo throws a blind hook that connects with the side of BEBUMs head.

Kongo has BEBUM pushed against the cage.
Kongo using the Thai plumb to throw knees but BEBUM has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
BEBUM tries for a takedown but Kongo manages to get underhooks.
BEBUM decides to pull guard.
Kongo throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Kongo must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Kongo throws a strike but BEBUM rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Kongo wants to stand but BEBUM is controlling the position.

BEBUM won't allow Kongo to get back to his feet.

Kongo tries to land a sweep but no joy.
BEBUM stops Kongo from standing up.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Horrible takedown by BEBUM or perhaps it was just good defense by Kongo which made him look bad.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for GURUTUBA BEBUM. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nice takedown defense from Kongo. No joy for BEBUM on that attempt.
BEBUM connects with a looping right hand.
Kongo is looking to clinch but BEBUM is avoiding it.
BEBUM ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kongo moves away.

so BEBUM counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
BEBUM is breathing heavily.

BEBUM stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kongo swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kongo wants to sweep but no luck.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kongo can't keep his opponent in guard - BEBUM advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Kongo flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Kongo wants to get back to full guard.
Kongo looks like he's trying to stand up.
Kongo missing with punches from the bottom.
BEBUM thows a huge punch but Kongo dodges it nicely.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
BEBUM fails with a takedown attempt.

Kongo closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Kongo connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused BEBUM some visible discomfort.
Kongo stands up.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Kongo trying to control the position but BEBUM is working away.
BEBUM dodges the ground and pound from Kongo.
Kongo has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
BEBUM gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Kongo counters by moving into the clinch.
BEBUM could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Kongo escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Kongo closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Kongo lands a body shot in the clinch.
Kongo throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but BEBUM blocks it with crossed arms.
Kongo connects with a nasty looking knee right to BEBUM's face.
Kongo scores with a nice hook to the head.
A shot in the inside from Kongo.
Kongo is pressed up against the cage. BEBUM has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Kongo down to the mat. Kongo avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

and Kongo counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Kongo is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
BEBUM is working an open guard so Kongo takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

and Kongo counters with a nice double leg into side control. BEBUM won't be happy with that.
BEBUM is rocked!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kongo has worked his way into a potential kimura here. BEBUM is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Kongo yanks on the arm and BEBUM is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Kongo.
