Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bill Penn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brynjar Skjeggestad (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Bill Penn! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Brynjar Skjeggestad! The judges for this bout are Josh West, Ryoma Takatsuka and Roger Salmon.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Penn shoots and misses and Skjeggestad counters with a right hand to the body. Penn gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Penn takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
It looks like Bill Penn has been cut. Penn shoots and misses and Skjeggestad connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bill Penn. That's going to take a lot out of him. Penn with a poor takedown and Skjeggestad counters with a combination of strikes to the head and body that crumple Penn!
Penn is rocked! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Skjeggestad is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Penn is just riding it out for now. Skjeggestad eventually gives up the hold. Skjeggestad is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Penn sees it coming and defends easily. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Skjeggestad is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Skjeggestad drops back looking for a leg! Penn is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Penn manages to kick Skjeggestad off! Skjeggestad jumps back into Penn's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Skjeggestad thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Skjeggestad looking to pass the guard. Skjeggestad trying to control but Penn is working from the bottom. Skjeggestad drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Skjeggestad jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Skjeggestad pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Penn is keeping the position for now. Penn is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Skjeggestad thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Skjeggestad is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Skjeggestad passes easily into side control. Nice work. Skjeggestad has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Penn! Skjeggestad is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Penn has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Penn can't escape the position.
Penn defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Skjeggestad. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Penn is trying desperately to improve position. Skjeggestad looking to secure an arm triangle but Penn defends it well. Skjeggestad jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Penn manages to avoid the submission attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Skjeggestad is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Penn is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Penn throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land. Penn is trying to get back to half guard. Skjeggestad trying to control the position but Penn is working away. Skjeggestad goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Penn rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Skjeggestad's guard! Nice work there by Penn! Penn got a little sloppy there for a moment and Skjeggestad has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Penn has managed to get both his arms back between Skjeggestad's legs - danger averted. Skjeggestad avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Penn wants to control from the top but Skjeggestad keeps moving. Skjeggestad is looking for a triangle but Penn pushes his legs off easily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Skjeggestad escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Penn gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Penn is sitting in close to Skjeggestad's body. Skjeggestad has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Penn is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Penn is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Skjeggestad.
