PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matt Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kim Jong Un (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jong Un has chosen DPRKorean National Anthem as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Matt Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kim Jong Un!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Daniel Blasius and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jong Un wants to clinch but Johnson slips to the side
and Johnson counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Johnson closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Jong Un's guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Jong Un looking to control.
Jong Un is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Johnson content to stall in guard here.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Johnson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Johnson wants it to stay on the feet.
Jong Un fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Jong Un fails with an attempt to clinch.
Jong Un takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Jong Un tries to close the distance and clinch up but Johnson swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Johnson attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jong Un loads up on a big right hand but Johnson slips the punch.
Johnson avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Jong Un dips to his left and cracks Johnson with an uppercut!
Jong Un wants to clinch.

Johnson rushes Jong Un and presses him up against the cage.

Jong Un pulls guard.

Jong Un has his foot on Johnson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Johnson works his way back into a safe position though.

Jong Un pushes a forearm under Johnson's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Johnson is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Kim Jong Un!
Kim Jong Un decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
