The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, James Ackerman and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
black tries for a takedown but Loose sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
black drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
black trying to control but Loose is working from the bottom.
black controlling from the top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
black has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Loose throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Loose looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
black wants to control from the top but Loose keeps moving.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
black decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Loose, up you get!
Loose fails with the takedown
and black counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Loose feints and as black raises his hands in defense, Loose changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

so Loose counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Loose stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. black swivels though and keeps the full guard.
black looking to hit a scissor sweep but Loose is one step ahead there.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
Loose pushes down on black's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Loose is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so black is just riding it out for now. Loose eventually gives up the hold.
black is pressing down on Loose's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Loose postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! black is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Loose, into his guard.

black wants to control but Loose is keeping him busy.

Loose is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute black jumps into side control!

Loose gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
