PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Nox Fire (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Desmond The Finish (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fire kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genuis that is Can't be touched. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nox Fire!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Desmond The Finish!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, John Mangel and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fire misses with a body kick.
Fire changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Fire fails in his attempt to clinch.
The Finish tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Fire swivels and escapes.
Fire fails with an attempt to clinch.
The Finish shoots in but no luck this time.
The Finish closes this distance looking for a takedown but Fire circles away.
Nox Fire has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Desmond The Finish.
Fire throws a good cross that connects.
Fire tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Fire moves in looking to clinch but The Finish pushes him off.
Fire scores with a jab to the body.

The Finish looking to control but Fire is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Fire tries to improve his position but instead The Finish has taken his back!
Fire wants to escape the position but for the time being he's just trying to control the pace.

Fire turns into The Finish and is now in his guard.

Fire is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Fire has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The Finish ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. The Finish no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
The Finish shoots and misses
and Fire counters with a three punch combo that has The Finish backing up. The Finish nods at Fire to acknowledge the strikes.

Fire looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The Finish blocking the ground and pound attempt from Fire.
The Finish wants to get back to full guard.
The Finish is pressing down on Fire's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Fire gets to his feet - The Finish follows without any prompting.

That was a close second round but I would say that Nox Fire will probably get the nod.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Desmond The Finish comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think The Finish has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
