The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cantwell looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Cantwell checks the leg kick.
Cantwell shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Souza as he avoids it easily.
Souza throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Cantwell tries a head kick but it misses.
Cantwell pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Steve Cantwell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cantwell swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Souza defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Cantwell.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Steve Cantwell. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Cantwell shoots in and drives through. Souza sprawls well.
Cantwell is breathing heavily.
