PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Billy Kincaid (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and ILja Muromets (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kincaid comes into the arena with Jesus Wept - Suffocation (Effigy of the Forgotton) blaring out of the sound system. Muromets has chosen Krec Паром через as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Billy Kincaid!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, ILja Muromets!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Johanna Lukiainen and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kincaid lands with a kick to the ribs.
Muromets shoots and misses

and Kincaid counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Muromets!
Muromets is looking for a sweep.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kincaid trying to control the position but Muromets is working away.
Muromets manages to get back to half guard.
Muromets has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Kincaid is working away from the top position though.
Kincaid controlling the action here.
Kincaid wants to pass to mount but Muromets is defending the position.

Muromets trying to control but Kincaid postures up.
Muromets controlling the position for now.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Muromets takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Kincaid slips a jab and a cross from Muromets.
Muromets throws a body punch but Kincaid moves out of range.
Kincaid throws a leg kick but Muromets moved away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Muromets looks to throw the jab but Kincaid is out of range.
Muromets shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Kincaid counters with a shoot takedown. Muromets fights it but they end up in guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Muromets manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Muromets throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Kincaid is squirming around, avoiding Muromets's attempts to control the action.

Muromets has hold of Kincaid's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Kincaid manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Kincaid wants to hold on but Muromets pushes him away.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Muromets moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Kincaid has worked his arm free - good work by Kincaid!
Muromets is looking to take a break and control but Kincaid is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Muromets throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
Kincaid sneaks back into half guard.

Muromets is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Kincaid is just riding it out for now. Muromets eventually gives up the hold.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Muromets trying to control from half guard but Kincaid is working away.
Muromets is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Muromets tries to control but Kincaid wriggling away.
Kincaid sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Muromets thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Billy Kincaid dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Muromets falls off balance throwing a combination

and Kincaid counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Muromets trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Kincaid manages to pass to mount!
Kincaid looking to control but Muromets is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Muromets can't escape the position.
Muromets bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Muromets slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Kincaid is trying to control the position but Muromets postures up.
Muromets wanted to stand there but Kincaid had control of the position.
Muromets trying to control the position from guard on top but Kincaid is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

ILja Muromets has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Kincaid fails to land with a series of punches.
Kincaid thows a left - swing and a miss!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Muromets blocks a jab.
Muromets waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Kincaid.
Kincaid slaps away a takedown attempt from Muromets, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Kincaid thows a body shot but no joy.
Muromets misses with a takedown attempt - Kincaid sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Kincaid tries to close the distance and clinch but Muromets swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Muromets with a nice cross.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Muromets dives in and scores a takedown into Kincaid's guard.
Muromets wants to control from the top but Kincaid keeps moving.
Muromets is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Kincaid pulls Muromets in close to prevent any damage.
Muromets slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Muromets cracks Kincaid with a big elbow.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
I wouldn't like to be where Kincaid is right now.

Muromets looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Kincaid can't do much from the bottom here.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kincaid is looking for a sweep.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Muromets working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Muromets is staying tight to Kincaid's torso, preventing him from escaping.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

ILja Muromets showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Kincaid tests Muromets's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Kincaid connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Muromets throws a combination that misses

and Kincaid moves into the clinch.

Kincaid escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Kincaid drops a shoulder and throws an uppercut that cracks Muromets right on the button. Muromets goes down! Kincaid follows him to the mat and finishes the job with more strikes! Kincaid gets the win via TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:43 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Billy Kincaid!
Our winner, Billy Kincaid, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
