Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Maria Ozawa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jarmo Laukkanen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Laukkanen has chosen The Mutilation of Christ as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Maria Ozawa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
14 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jarmo Laukkanen!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, George Francis and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ozawa goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Laukkanen misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Ozawa lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Laukkanen lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Ozawa tries to clinch but Laukkanen moves out of range.
Laukkanen fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Ozawa sprawls well initially but Laukkanen persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Laukkanen perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Ozawa keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Laukkanen uses his free foot to push down on Ozawa's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Ozawa.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Ozawa takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Laukkanen scoring with strikes but Ozawa is staying in there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Laukkanen tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Laukkanen looking to finish Ozawa with some ground and pound. This is bad for Ozawa!
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Laukkanen cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Laukkanen pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Laukkanen sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

Ozawa is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

Let's hope that Laukkanen has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Jarmo Laukkanen.
Laukkanen scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Ozawa is rocked!
Laukkanen drops Ozawa with a big left hand! Ozawa is injured, injured bad! Laukkanen jumps in and finished him with strikes! The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jarmo Laukkanen!
A less than humble Jarmo Laukkanen misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
