The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bates looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Gonzales is fending him off so far but Bates persists. Nope, Gonzales circles away and we're back to standing.
Gonzales moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Bates takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Gonzales lands a right hook to the body.
Gonzales swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Bates.
Bates is breathing heavily.
Gonzales fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Gonzales misses with a few strikes there.
Gonzales misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Gonzales lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Bates gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Gonzales works Bates's body with a nice hook.
Gonzales lands a really nice looking cross but Bates seems unphased.
Bates is rocked!
Gonzales misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Oh Bates is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
A decent looking body kick lands there for Gonzales.
Gonzales lands with a nice body kick.
BAM! Gonzales delivers a spinning backfist that drops Bates like a ragdoll! This is all oooooveeeer! He was out before he hit the ground!
