Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Joe Saunders (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Glenn Wauler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Saunders comes to the cage accompanied by Limp Bizkit - Break Stuff. Wauler has chosen Good 'ol Boy as his entrance music. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joe Saunders!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Glenn Wauler!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Columbo Gatti and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wauler lands with a nice body punch.
Wauler misses with a left hand
and Saunders counters with an inside leg kick.
Saunders tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Saunders slips under a jab from Wauler.
Wauler misses with a straight left.
Wauler bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Saunders's head backwards.
Wauler throws out a powerful jab.
Saunders thows a body shot but no joy.
A shot to the liver by Wauler. Beautiful body shot.

Saunders shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Saunders was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Saunders misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Saunders throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Wauler manages to work his way to half guard, despite Saunders's best efforts.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wauler wants to improve his position but Saunders is controlling well.

Wauler is controlling Saunders's trapped leg to prevent Saunders from advancing to side control.

Saunders is looking to improve his position but Wauler isn't that keen on the idea.

Saunders has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Wauler finds it's way round the side to connect with Saunders's head.

Wauler closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Saunders tries a body shot but Wauler blocks it.
Saunders tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Wauler throws a head punch that misses.
Wauler misses with a punch to the body.
Saunders misses with some punches.

Wauler lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Wauler lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Saunders.

Saunders wants the takedown. Wauler is fighting it off but Saunders persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Wauler's guard against the cage.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Wauler looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

Joe Saunders overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Saunders throws a strike but Wauler rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Wauler wants to get up but he can't break Saunders's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Wauler gets to his feet. Saunders looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Saunders throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Wauler stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Saunders tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Wauler smiles and moves away.
Wauler lands a head shot.
Wauler avoids the head kick by Saunders.
Saunders shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Wauler sprawls well. Wauler wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Saunders gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joe Saunders. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Wauler catches Saunders with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Wauler jabs at Saunders's body.
Saunders uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Wauler.

A head kick misses from Saunders.
Wauler throws a hook but Saunders blocks it.
A swing and a miss from Wauler.
The crowd cheers as Wauler lands an impressive looking overhand right. Saunders doesn't seem phased though.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Wauler misses with an uppercut.
Wauler works the jab nicely.
Wauler tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Saunders paws at him with a jab and circles away.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Wauler scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Crunch! Saunders slams his shin into Wauler's torso.
Wauler throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Glenn Wauler showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! And we move into the final round!


Wauler lands with a nice body punch.
Wauler throws out a loose jab but Saunders uses good head movement to avoid it.
Saunders misses with a body shot.
Wauler on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Saunders. Saunders obviously looking to wear him down.
Wauler ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Saunders moves away.

Saunders moves into range and clinches up with Wauler.

Wauler throws a punch but it's blocked by Saunders.

Wauler is fighting off a takedown attempt but Saunders is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Wauler to the mat. Wauler regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Wauler escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Saunders gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Saunders chips away with some ground and pound.
Saunders wants to control from the top but Wauler keeps moving.
Saunders looking to sit in guard and control but Wauler gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
