Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Woonsocket Cavaricci (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Snider (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Woonsocket Cavaricci! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Steve Snider! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Paulo Santos and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cavaricci scores with a takedown into Snider's guard. Cavaricci missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cavaricci pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Snider is keeping the position for now. Cavaricci working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Cavaricci with a flurry of punches that miss. Snider is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Cavaricci throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Snider works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Cavaricci is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Snider is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Snider has escaped and now he's on top! Cavaricci is trying to control the position but Snider postures up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cavaricci looking to hit a scissor sweep but Snider is one step ahead there. Cavaricci working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Snider doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Snider manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Cavaricci escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Snider gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cavaricci looking for a sweep. Not yet Cavaricci, not yet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Cavaricci is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Cavaricci is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Cavaricci isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Snider stacks Cavaricci on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Snider!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cavaricci tries to improve position but can't. Snider stands up and we're back to a striking position. Cavaricci shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Snider pinned against the cage. Snider gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Cavaricci fails with the takedown. Cavaricci will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Woonsocket Cavaricci. That's going to take a lot out of him. Cavaricci with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Snider to score with a decent uppercut. Snider throws out a loose jab but Cavaricci uses good head movement to avoid it. Cavaricci shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cavaricci unloads with some shots from mount but Snider bucks and avoids them well.
Cavaricci jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Snider is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Snider and Cavaricci has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Snider really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cavaricci. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Cavaricci is breathing heavily. Snider wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Cavaricci swings around for an armbar but Snider sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Cavaricci's guard. Snider stands up from guard. Let's bang! Cavaricci lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Horrible takedown by Cavaricci or perhaps it was just good defense by Snider which made him look bad. Snider swats away the attempt to clinch by Cavaricci. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Steve Snider will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Cavaricci shoots in for a double leg but Snider sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Snider throws a jab when Cavaricci was well out of range. Snider avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Cavaricci has a takedown stuffed. Snider tries to bum rush Cavaricci with a series of wild strikes but Cavaricci uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Cavaricci fails miserably with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Woonsocket Cavaricci. That's going to take a lot out of him. Cavaricci shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Snider but Snider pushes him off and we're back to square one. Cavaricci shoots in and drives through. Snider sprawls well. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Horrible takedown by Cavaricci or perhaps it was just good defense by Snider which made him look bad. Snider lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Cavaricci closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cavaricci goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Snider has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Cavaricci but great work by Snider. Cavaricci is looking for a sweep. Snider stands up and we're back to a striking position. Cavaricci shoots for a double leg takedown but Snider sprawls well. He's pushed Cavaricci's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Cavaricci shoots in for a takedown but Snider shows good takedown defense. Steve Snider is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Cavaricci fails with a takedown attempt. Cavaricci fails with the takedown. Nice takedown defense from Snider. No joy for Cavaricci on that attempt. Snider throws a jab when Cavaricci was well out of range. Cavaricci looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Snider throws a hook to the side of Cavaricci's head but Cavaricci sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. A big right from Snider misses. Cavaricci looks for a takedown but Snider sprawls well. Snider misses with a straight right. Cavaricci checks a leg kick nicely. Cavaricci tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Snider swivels and escapes. Snider throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Cavaricci tries to clinch up but Snider circles away and keeps his distance. Cavaricci shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Cavaricci stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Snider swivels though and keeps the full guard. Cavaricci drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Snider dives on top into guard. Cavaricci wants to improve his position but instead Snider has moved into half guard.
Cavaricci has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Snider escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Snider! Cavaricci is positioning himself to get back to half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Steve Snider showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
A telegraphed right hand from Snider misses the target. Cavaricci drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Woonsocket Cavaricci overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Cavaricci tries for a kimura but Snider is defending well. Snider is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Cavaricci taking a breather here. Cavaricci works to advance to full mount. Snider defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Snider takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Snider is squirming around, avoiding Cavaricci's attempts to control the action. Cavaricci swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Snider is now in Cavaricci's guard. A big mistake from Cavaricci there, giving up the dominant position! Snider would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Cavaricci looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cavaricci is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Snider has his hands clasped together but Cavaricci extends an breaks Snider's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Cavaricci.
