Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tj Thai!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Carlos Nelson!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Emerson Jorge and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nelson blocks a head kick by Thai.
Thai fails with an attempt to clinch.
Thai throws a head kick but Nelson moves out of range.
Thai throws a sloppy head kick and Nelson moves out of range easily.
Thai feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Nelson's calf.
Nelson closes the distance and clinches up with Thai, looking for a takedown. Nelson pushes Thai against the cage but Thai circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Nelson circles away from the clinch attempt.
Thai tries to close the distance and clinch up but Nelson swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Thai tries to clinch up but Nelson circles away and keeps his distance.
Nelson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Thai but Thai pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Tj Thai seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Thai fails with an attempt to clinch.
Nelson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Thai tries to avoid it but Nelson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Thai to the ground. Thai escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Tj Thai has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Carlos Nelson.
Thai throws a sloppy head kick and Nelson moves out of range easily.
Nelson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Thai swivels and escapes.

Thai throws a head kick that misses.
Thai fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Nelson, pushing him back against the cage.
Thai breaks from the clinch.
Nelson seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Thai shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Nelson is backing up but Thai catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Nelson covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Thai Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:01 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tj Thai!
