The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gaston thows a body kick. James tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Gaston misses with a wild body shot.
Gaston throws the kick towards the body but James avoids it.
James looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
James shoots in looking for a takedown. Gaston tries to sprawl out of it but James keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Gaston manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
James shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Gaston but Gaston pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alex James. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Gaston throws a wild body kick that James sees coming a mile off.

Gaston fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with James, pushing him back against the cage.

Gaston escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Gaston throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Gaston throws a leg kick which misses James's front leg but catches the back leg as James tries to avoid it.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
James shoots in for a takedown but Gaston shows good takedown defense.

Gaston wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from James.
Gaston lets loose with a powerful body kick. James will feel that in the morning.

James wants to stay close but Gaston steps back to make room for something. James seems frozen to the spot and bam! huge swing of the leg from Gaston and James drops like he has been shot! A huge head kick and it's all over!
