Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rafael Fox!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Alan Corke!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Summer Carpenter and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice body kick there by Fox.
Corke circles away from the clinch attempt.

Corke tries to keep at a distance but Fox has taken the fight into the clinch.

Corke pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Fox thuds his shin into the meat of Corke's side.

It looks like Alan Corke has been cut.
Fox keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Corke's efforts to push away.
Corke wants to break free but Fox has control.

Fox has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Corke clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Fox is hanging on to Corke's back as he tries to escape.
Corke is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Fox is working the ground and pound. Can Corke escape?

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Fox is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Fox gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Fox gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Fox apologises and we restart here on the feet.

Fox throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.

Fox dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Corke. That did some damage!
Fox tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Fox.
Fox tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Corke crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Fox - the referee stops the clock and Corke gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Fox. Corke manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Fox tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Corke paws at him with a jab and circles away.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Fox.
Rafael Fox seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fox moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Corke looks winded!

and Corke counters with a straight right hand.
Corke avoids a kick to the body.

Fox pushes Corke up against the cage in a clinch.
Fox lands a good knee to the midsection. Corke won't want to take too many of those.

Fox comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.

Corke has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Fox.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Fox throws a push kick but Corke slaps the foot to one side.
Fox fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Corke has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Fox lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Fox shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Corke defends it nicely.

Fox changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Corke looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Corke takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Corke sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Fox looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Corke with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Corke tries to get to full guard but Fox has control of the leg.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fox wants to work for an arm triangle but Corke is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Fox seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Corke does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Rafael Fox overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Corke wants to improve his position but Fox is controlling well.
Fox takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Corke is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Fox pulls his head out easily.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Fox connects with a nice short shot to Corke's temple.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

and Corke counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Corke moves out of range as Fox throws a body kick.
Fox looks for the body kick but Corke saw that one coming.

Corke sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Corke throws a hook but Fox avoids it easily.

and Corke counters with a nice uppercut.
Alan Corke is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
