Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joes Ortiz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Diego Martinez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Diego Martinez will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martinez darts in trying to clinch
and Ortiz counters with a single leg into guard. Martinez didn't expect that.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Ortiz thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Ortiz is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Martinez wants to stand up but Ortiz is controlling him.
Ortiz postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Martinez is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Ortiz, into his guard.
Ortiz looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Martinez has picked Ortiz up and slammed him! Ortiz can't keep hold of the triangle and Martinez manages to pass to side control!

Ortiz is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Martinez wants to stand but Ortiz has his arm trapped.
Ortiz is looking for a sweep.
Ortiz is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Martinez tries to stand but can't do so whilst Ortiz controls his leg.

Martinez decides to return to a standing position.
Martinez walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Ortiz checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Martinez is looking to clinch.
Ortiz avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Martinez moves into range and clinches up with Ortiz.
Ortiz has Martinez pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Martinez manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Martinez is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Ortiz is defending well for now.
