Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between John Psina (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Franklin Marrow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Psina! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Franklin Marrow! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Cecil Peabody and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Psina tries to score with a low kick but Marrow moves his leg out of the way. Psina turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. A clash of legs there as Marrow blocks the low kick. Marrow shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Marrow was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Marrow taking a breather here. Psina wants to get back to his feet. Marrow taking a breather here. Psina taking punishment in the form of punches.
Psina is pushing Marrow's head away, looking to escape. Marrow manages to hold on to the position though. The referee asks Marrow politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Marrow prefers to stall for the moment though. Psina is trying to escape and get back to his feet. This has been an exciting period of action! Marrow taking a breather here.
That's one minute gone in the round.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Franklin Marrow wasn't active enough on the ground. Marrow shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Psina sprawls well. Psina wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Marrow gets slowly back to his feet. Marrow gets a clinch. Marrow is stalling here.
Psina tries to circle away but Marrow has him pinned against the cage. Marrow is working for takedown but Psina is calmly controlling the position for now. Psina can't break the clinch.
Psina escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Psina throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Marrow's head. Good leg kick by Psina there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Marrow tries to clinch but Psina moves out of range.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Psina lands a nice leg kick that just misses Marrow's sensitive parts. Marrow stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Psina. Marrow fails to land the takedown. John Psina has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Franklin Marrow. Psina fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Psina lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Psina lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Psina scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Marrow slips a jab and a cross from Psina.
Psina fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Marrow tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Psina thows a leg kick but Marrow checks it so Marrow counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Psina wants to stand and escape but Marrow is having none of it. Psina trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. Marrow controls from within his opponent's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Psina is looking to stand up but Marrow isn't so interested in that idea. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Marrow slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Franklin Marrow was stalling too much, according to the referee. Psina throws a nice inside leg kick. Psina's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Psina duly obliges. A bone on bone clash there as Marrow blocks the leg kick.
Psina throws a leg kick but Marrow sees it coming and checks it nicely. Horrible takedown by Marrow or perhaps it was just good defense by Psina which made him look bad. John Psina seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Marrow fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Marrow misses with a jab, cross combination.
Psina throws a right and a left that both miss. Marrow takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Marrow's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. Marrow lands a big head kick that sends Psina tumbling to the mat! Marrow takes a step backwards and waves Psina back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Psina is rocked!
It looks like John Psina has been cut. This has been an exciting period of action! Psina throws a leg kick that is checked and Marrow shoots in for a double leg counter - driving through into a slam and Psina is out! The slam has knocked him out cold! Devastating for Psina but Marrow is celebrating as the crowd goes wild!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Slam). Franklin Marrow!
