The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lawal misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Ely throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Lawal is breathing heavily.
A shot to the liver by Ely. Beautiful body shot.
Ely throws a shot to the body.
Lawal tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ely closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Lawal to the mat! Lawal manages to get full guard.
Ely pushing down on Lawal's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Ely is looking to take a break and control but Lawal is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Ely passes the guard and advances to mount!
Ely lands with some strikes.
Ely has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
