Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Blas Kavcic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brenen Phillips (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Phillips comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Am I A Psycho kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Brenen Phillips!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Ryoma Takatsuka and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Phillips tries to close the distance and clinch but Kavcic swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Phillips is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Phillips fails with an attempt to clinch.
Kavcic drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Kavcic wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Phillips, who protects the arm well.
A lull in the action here as Kavcic stalls from top position.
Phillips struggling a bit here.
Kavcic is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Kavcic tries for a kimura but Phillips is defending well.
Phillips manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Kavcic is working for a submission of some sort.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Phillips makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Phillips.
Phillips really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kavcic. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Phillips throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Kavcic might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Kavcic is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Kavcic wants to pass the guard but Phillips is keeping the position.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Kavcic trying to control but Phillips is working from the bottom.

Phillips not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Phillips fails to land with a series of punches.

Phillips stuffs the takedown attempt from Kavcic. Kavcic gets slowly back to his feet.
Kavcic darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Phillips pushes Kavcic off looking to stand but Kavcic dives back in and keeps control.
Kavcic is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Phillips is trying to stand up here but Kavcic is controlling him well.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kavcic wants to lay and pray for a moment but Phillips keeps working.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Phillips is trying to stand.
Phillips looks winded!
Kavcic thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Phillips's head.
Kavcic not doing much here.
Kavcic prevents Phillips from standing back up.

Kavcic content to control rather than advance.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Kavcic maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Phillips could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Kavcic has cracked it and Phillips is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Kavcic!
