Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John Maynard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Christian Belmont!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Elvis Blanc and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Belmont changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Maynard tries to avoid it but Belmont manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Maynard to the ground. Maynard escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Belmont shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Maynard but Maynard pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Belmont pushes Maynard up against the cage in a clinch.
Maynard really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Belmont breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Maynard lands with a nice combination. Belmont backs away looking to recover.
Belmont moves away from the strike by Maynard.
Belmont takes one on the button.
Maynard leaves Belmont with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
John Maynard has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Christian Belmont.
Maynard dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Maynard wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Belmont fails to land the takedown.
A slow jab from Maynard misses its intended target.
Maynard fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Belmont on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Belmont throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

Belmont slips under a jab from Maynard.
Maynard with a nice cross.
Belmont takes one to the side of the head.
Belmont with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Maynard to score with a decent uppercut.
Maynard cracks Belmont with a good jab.
Belmont tries to move into range but Maynard moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Maynard keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Belmont looks winded!
Belmont blocks a jab.
Belmont walks into a straight right hand from Maynard.
Maynard scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Belmont is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Belmont takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Belmont is still on wobbly legs! Can Maynard finish him?
Belmont gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Maynard gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Belmont is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
