Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Andrew Havener (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Igor Maksimenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Andrew Havener!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 2, fighting out of St Petersburg, Igor Maksimenko!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Viktor Lagutenko and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maksimenko doesn't manage to clinch there - Havener circles away.
Havener throws a sloppy head kick and Maksimenko moves out of range easily.

Maksimenko scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Maksimenko seems to be looking for submissions.
Maksimenko seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Maksimenko shoots in looking for a takedown. Havener tries to sprawl out of it but Maksimenko keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Havener manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Havener throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Maksimenko stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Maksimenko wants to control but Havener is keeping him busy.

Maksimenko decides to stand up, so the ref orders Havener to his feet.

Havener takes the fight into the clinch.
Maksimenko wants to stall.
Havener jumps guard but Maksimenko turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Havener with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Maksimenko looking to throw knees to the head but Havener is blocking nicely.
Havener lands a knee to the head.
Maksimenko is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Maksimenko drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Havener gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Maksimenko blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Andrew Havener.
I think Havener has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
