Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Takahiro Jouda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gabriel Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, John Kavanagh and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jouda shoots in looking for a takedown. Rua tries to sprawl out of it but Jouda keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Rua manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Jouda misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

and Rua counters with a nice body kick.

Gabriel Rua seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Jouda dives in and grabs Rua's left leg, looking for a takedown. Rua pushes down on Jouda's head and hops out.
Rua jabs Jouda right on the nose. Jouda blinks but takes it well.

Rua leaves Jouda with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Rua lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Jouda at a distance.
Rua stalks Jouda and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Jouda's face. Jouda staggers backwards, shaken.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Jouda takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Rua scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Jouda doesn't seem bothered though.

Takahiro Jouda seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rua steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Jouda.
Horrible takedown by Jouda or perhaps it was just good defense by Rua which made him look bad.

Gabriel Rua opened up his post fight interview with a scream to camera that he wants a title shot! Whether he deserves the shot will be up to the management of the organization, so I guess he'll have to wait and see.
