2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ryan Davis! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Robert Twigg and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hoover throws a right hand that Davis ducks under and follows up with a left that Davis also avoids with ease. Hoover throws a head kick that misses. Hoover pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Hoover misses with a jab, cross combination.
Hoover buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
A choreographed right hand from Hoover misses the target. Hoover misses with a series of wild punches.
Hoover throws a sloppy head kick and Davis moves out of range easily. Hoover throws a nice looking combination but Davis bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Hoover misses with a leg kick. Davis blocks a head kick by Hoover.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hoover misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Antoine Hoover seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hoover tries to score with a low kick but Davis moves his leg out of the way. Hoover throws a right hand that Davis ducks under and follows up with a left that Davis also avoids with ease. Davis blocks a leg kick. Davis bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Hoover is breathing heavily. Hoover misses with an uppercut. Davis saw that one coming.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hoover tries to work over Davis's front leg with a kick but Davis checks it. Davis displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Hoover throws out the jab. Hoover takes a swing at Davis's ribcage but misses. Davis fails with a takedown attempt. Hoover wants to slow Davis down by chopping away at his legs. Hoover tries to bum rush Davis with a series of wild strikes but Davis uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Davis bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Davis has hold of Hoover's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Hoover seems comfortable defending it but Davis has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Hoover is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Hoover is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Davis couldn't care less - he's delighted!
