Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ryhti Metti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Fightmaster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ryhti Metti!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Max Fightmaster!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Roosa Järviläinen and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fightmaster shoots in looking for a takedown. Metti tries to sprawl out of it but Fightmaster keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Metti manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Fightmaster shoots for a takedown but Metti saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Fightmaster has a takedown stuffed.
Ryhti Metti has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Max Fightmaster.
Fightmaster closes the distance and clinches up with Metti, looking for a takedown. Fightmaster pushes Metti against the cage but Metti circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Fightmaster gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Metti content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Fightmaster keeping moving, preventing Metti from controlling successfully.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Fightmaster can do anything to dispel that myth.
Fightmaster is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Metti tries to free his leg and advance position but Fightmaster is retaining full guard.

Metti with a flurry of punches that miss.
Metti lands a couple of elbows.
Metti lands a couple of decent looking shots.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Fightmaster fails in his attempt to clinch.
Fightmaster thows a body shot but no joy.
Fightmaster misses with a takedown attempt

and Metti counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Fightmaster's guard now.
Metti stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Fightmaster swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Metti has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Metti tries to free his leg and advance position but Fightmaster is retaining full guard.

Fightmaster is looking to sweep but instead, Metti has passed into half guard.
Metti trying to control from half guard but Fightmaster is working away.
Fightmaster wants to control but Metti is keeping busy.
Metti not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Metti shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Metti is looking to work some ground and pound but Fightmaster has wrist control.
Fightmaster thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Fightmaster wants to improve his position but instead Metti has moved into half guard.
Metti blocks the strikes from Fightmaster.
Metti missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Metti prevents Fightmaster from improving his position.
Fightmaster trying to control but Metti postures up.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Metti.

Metti working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Fightmaster takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Metti is looking to take a break and control but Fightmaster is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Fightmaster is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Metti's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Metti wants to take a breather but Fightmaster is having none of it.
Fightmaster is trying to stand up here but Metti is controlling him well.
Metti throwing shots but Fightmaster is blocking nicely.
Fightmaster keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Metti feints and as Fightmaster raises his hands in defense, Metti changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Fightmaster looking to hit a scissor sweep but Metti is one step ahead there.
Metti passes Fightmaster's left leg - he's now in half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Metti connects with a nice short shot to Fightmaster's temple.
Fightmaster wants to improve his position but Metti is controlling well.
Fightmaster has hold of Metti's hands but Metti slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Metti prevents Fightmaster from improving his position.

Fightmaster is looking to improve his position.
Metti wants to free his trapped foot but Fightmaster is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Fightmaster is not content to let Metti control the position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Fightmaster doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Metti decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Fightmaster's guard.
Metti passes into half guard.
Metti throwing shots but Fightmaster is blocking nicely.

Fightmaster looks like he's trying to stand up.
Fightmaster wants to control but Metti is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Metti lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Fightmaster desperately trying to maintain half guard.
Metti looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Fightmaster with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Fightmaster really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Metti. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Metti shoots in and bounces Fightmaster off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Fightmaster looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Metti puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Fightmaster is refusing to be controlled, as Metti sits in half guard.
Metti not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Fightmaster blocking the ground and pound attempt from Metti.

Fightmaster tries to roll over but Metti keeps him under control.
Metti seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Fightmaster does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Fightmaster gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Metti counters with a takedown into side control.
Metti landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
Fightmaster wants to control but Metti postures up.
Fightmaster takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
A lull in the action here as Metti stalls from top position.
Metti misses with the ground and pound.
Fightmaster tries to buck Metti off but Metti is having none of it.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Metti has hold of Fightmaster's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Fightmaster tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Metti cranks the arm and Fightmaster screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Fightmaster, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:04 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Ryhti Metti!
