Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jemini Houser (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carl Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jemini Houser has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jemini Houser!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Carl Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Steve Montenegro and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Houser fails with the takedown.
Houser closes the distance and clinches up with Johnson, looking for a takedown. Houser pushes Johnson against the cage but Johnson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Johnson closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Johnson lands in his opponent's guard.
Houser throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Houser tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Houser is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Johnson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Houser wants to stand and escape but Johnson is having none of it.

Johnson decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Houser decides to pull guard.
Johnson controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Houser really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Johnson shoots in and gets a takedown into Houser's guard.
Johnson postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Houser has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Johnson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Johnson tries to free his leg and advance position but Houser is retaining full guard.
Johnson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Houser. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Johnson stands up from Houser's guard - Johnson perhaps looking for a knockout.
Johnson fails to land the takedown.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Houser fails with the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jemini Houser. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Houser is breathing heavily.

Houser gets caught flat footed, as Johnson shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Houser is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Johnson is aware though and is defending well.

Let's hope that Johnson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Carl Johnson was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Johnson has managed to clinch.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Houser trying to control the position but instead, Johnson has worked for underhooks and has pushed Houser into the cage.
Johnson jumps guard but Houser turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Carl Johnson dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Johnson avoids the head kick by Houser.

Johnson forces Houser back against the cage and clinches.
Houser misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Johnson.
Houser tries to score a body lock takedown but Johnson shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Johnson has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Houser clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Johnson is persistently looking for the submission but Houser is defending it well.

Johnson patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here?

Houser is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Johnson gets his way!
You can see the frustration on Houser's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Houser rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Johnson in particular looking to stall.

Houser wants to get back to his feet but Johnson is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Johnson decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Houser, up you get!

Jemini Houser is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Houser throws a sloppy head kick and Johnson moves out of range easily.
Danga de danga de dang - Johnson scores with a four punch combination!
Houser shoots in looking for a takedown but Johnson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Houser's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Johnson changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Houser looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Houser is bucking up trying to escape but Johnson cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Johnson lands a big shot there that rocks Houser but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Carl Johnson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Johnson has picked Houser up - he's going for a ride! Johnson dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Johnson is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Houser wants to get back to his feet.
Johnson content to control rather than advance.
Houser pushes Johnson off looking to stand but Johnson dives back in and keeps control.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Houser is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Houser tries to kick Johnson off but Johnson keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Carl Johnson has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Houser shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Houser.
Johnson lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Houser at a distance.
Johnson lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Houser backs up against the cage.

Johnson wants to sweep but no luck.

Johnson is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Houser is controlling him.
Houser stands up out of Johnson's guard for a moment - Johnson manages to land a nice upkick.
Johnson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Houser's guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Johnson lands a couple of digs.
Houser manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Johnson manages to get himself to full guard.
Houser wants to control from the top but Johnson keeps moving.

Johnson is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Houser throws an elbow that misses.

Johnson jumps guard.
Houser is fighting to break Johnson's control of his arms but Johnson is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Houser trying to control the position from guard on top but Johnson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Houser gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Johnson darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Houser moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Houser has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Johnson has passed into side control.
Houser tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Johnson is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Houser will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Houser is trying to control Johnson's posture but Johnson avoids it.

Carl Johnson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Johnson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
