Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Chris Schofer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sick Guy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sick Guy has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Chris Schofer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Sick Guy!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Tarja Halkonen and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Guy shoots in looking for a takedown. Schofer tries to sprawl out of it but Guy keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Schofer manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Guy circles away from the clinch attempt.

Schofer shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Schofer showed some decent athleticism there.

Schofer is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Guy doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Schofer.

Schofer is working for a kimura but Guy is defending it quite comfortably.

Schofer stands up from half guard.

Schofer bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Schofer tries to score with some ground and pound. Guy controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Guy is trying to get back to half guard.

Schofer looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Guy tries to buck Schofer off but Schofer is having none of it.

Schofer thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Guy manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Schofer is breathing heavily.
Guy wants to improve his position but Schofer is controlling well.
Guy is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Schofer is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Guy throws a head kick that misses.
Guy lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Guy.

Guy shoots for a double leg takedown but Schofer sprawls well. He's pushed Guy's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Schofer tries to clinch
and Guy counters with a one-two to the body.
No luck for Schofer with that takedown attempt.
Chris Schofer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Schofer moves in looking to clinch but Guy pushes him off.
Guy shoots for a double leg takedown but Schofer sprawls well. He's pushed Guy's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Chris Schofer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sick Guy.

Guy decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Schofer looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Guy passes into side control.

Schofer manages to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Schofer gets full guard.
Schofer is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Guy avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Schofer escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Guy gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Guy working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Schofer has his foot on Guy's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Guy works his way back into a safe position though.
Schofer manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Schofer jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Guy manages to avoid the submission attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chris Schofer dominated that round.
That's time! Schofer's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Schofer swings away with a body shot that misses
and Guy cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Guy slips under a jab from Schofer.
Schofer throws a front kick that sends Guy stumbling back into the cage.
Guy cracks Schofer with a right hand to the side of the head.

Schofer looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Schofer uses his free foot to push down on Guy's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Guy.
Guy is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Schofer goes for an armbar but Guy turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Guy.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Schofer is on top in guard.

Schofer advances position into side control!

Schofer tries for a kimura but Guy is defending well.

Schofer goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Guy rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Schofer's guard! Nice work there by Guy!
Schofer bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Guy's guard.
Schofer passes Guy's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Schofer is looking for a kimura but Guy is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Schofer to get the leverage.
Schofer frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Schofer with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Schofer is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
Schofer tries to close the distance and clinch but Guy swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Schofer misses with a body kick.
Guy throws a head kick that misses.
Guy shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Schofer counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Schofer throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Guy blocks it with crossed arms.
Schofer lands an elbow inside that Guy shrugs off.
Schofer looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Schofer struggles to land a body shot inside as Guy controls his hands.
Guy avoiding damage as Schofer throws knees to the body.
Schofer misses with a hook to the ribs.
Schofer stops a takedown attempt from Guy.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Schofer.
Schofer looking to throw knees to the head but Guy is blocking nicely.

Schofer looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Guy tries to throw a body punch but Schofer avoids it by throwing Guy back against the cage.
Guy managing to block the knees to the body from Schofer.
Guy goes for a takedown attempt but Schofer pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Schofer misses with a double jab.

Guy pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Schofer tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Guy closes this distance looking for a takedown but Schofer circles away.
Guy shoots in for a double leg but Schofer sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Guy stalks Schofer and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Schofer's face. Schofer staggers backwards, shaken.

Schofer working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.

Schofer is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Guy is surviving well by controlling Schofer's body position as best he can.

Schofer swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Guy is now in Schofer's guard. A big mistake from Schofer there, giving up the dominant position!

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Schofer tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Guy paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Guy throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Schofer tries to clinch but Guy is having none of it.

Guy lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Schofer backs up against the cage.

Schofer shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Schofer goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Guy turns into him and now he's in Schofer's guard.

Guy drops back looking for a leg! Schofer is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Schofer manages to kick Guy off! Guy jumps back into Schofer's guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Schofer escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Guy gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Guy throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Schofer works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Schofer looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Schofer has his feet on Guy's thighs here. He's pushed Guy off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Guy screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
