PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between kizzer D (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Micke Brande (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Brande's choice of entrance music: Im a barbie girl. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brande tries a head kick but it misses.
Nice body punch from Brande.
Brande fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
D misses with a takedown
and Brande counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

D shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Brande tries to lock up and control but D gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Brande working to try and regain half guard.
Brande tries to improve his position but instead D has taken his back!
D tries to get the hooks in deep but Brande pushed the leg off.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Brande tries to roll but D sticks to his back.
Brande is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
D tries to keep control of the position but Brande is staying busy.
D is trying to stick to Brande's back but Brande is turning into D. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in D's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Brande.
Brande wants to control from the top but D keeps moving.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Brande rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but D moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Brande stuffs the takedown attempt from D. D gets slowly back to his feet.
D circles away from the clinch attempt.
A combination from Brande does no damage.
D misses with a takedown
and Brande counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for kizzer D. That's going to take a lot out of him.
D is breathing heavily.
Brande has his takedown stuffed

and D counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Brande's guard now.

Brande is pulling down on D's head. It's preventing any offense from D, at least for the moment.
Brande is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Brande wants to sweep but no luck.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Brande pulls D in close to prevent any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Brande is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Brande is on top in guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that kizzer D will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
