The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson shoots and misses
and Hamfist counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Hamfist fails with an attempt to clinch.

Johnson drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Johnson prevents Hamfist from escaping the position.
Johnson in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.

Hamfist can't do much from the bottom here.
Johnson is putting a hurting on Hamfist here, landing some big shots from side control.
Johnson lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Hamfist down.
Hamfist is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Johnson has just dragged him back down to the mat.

BOOM! Johnson connects with a massive shot to the dome!

A big strike lands for Johnson! That's really hurt Hamfist and he's turned his back - Johnson keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Johnson jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Michael Johnson!
Michael Johnson decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
