The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yuuki Gou and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marfil fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Marfil shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Now eats them both and turns towards Marfil to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Marfil seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Now for as long as he can get away with.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Now can do anything to dispel that myth.

Now is trying desperately to land a takedown but Marfil is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Now.

Now shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Marfil as he jumps to the side.

Marfil comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Now turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
The fighters circle momentarily. Marfil darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Marfil shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Now pinned against the cage. Now gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Now plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Marfil moves into range and clinches up with Now.
