Coming up we have a super heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Chil Pal Gu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nate Ross (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chil Pal Gu has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gu displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Ross throws out the jab.
Ross misses with a low kick as Gu jumps back.
Ross jabs Gu to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Gu attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.

Ross rushes Gu and presses him up against the ropes.

It looks like Chil Pal Gu has been cut.

Gu scores with a jab. Ross acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Gu throws a lazy right hand but Ross sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Ross doesn't manage to clinch there - Gu circles away.
Gu tries to move into range but Ross moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Gu slips under a jab from Ross.
Gu avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Gu lands a glancing blow to the side of Ross's head.

Ross throws a big shot that misses.
Gu fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Ross manages to avoid it.
Nate Ross is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Ross takes one on the chin but seems OK.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Gu misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Nate Ross seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ross misses with a looping left.
Ross tries to bum rush Gu with a series of wild strikes but Gu uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ross tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in the close the distance. Gu manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Ross walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

It looks like Nate Ross has been cut.
Gu throws a looping overhand right but Ross ducks down to avoid it.
Ross misses with the combination.
The crowd cheers as Gu lands an impressive looking overhand right. Ross doesn't seem phased though.

Ross throws a head kick but Gu moves out of range.

Ross slips a jab and a cross from Gu.

That was a close round but I would say that Chil Pal Gu will probably get the nod.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business.

Ross will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Gu is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

Gu staggers Ross with a jab and knocks him down with a follow up straight! Ross looks in trouble, will he beat the count?! The count has reached 5 and he's only back to 1 knee - it's going to be close! 6,7,8 - he's up! Just in time and the ref is going to let the fight continue!

and Gu counters with a straight right hand that connects right on the button, dropping Ross face first to the canvas! He's out! He's out cold! No need for a count here - this fight is over!
