Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Olavi Etuvainio!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Randy Swick!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Marco Blurström and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Swick connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Etuvainio takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.


It looks like Olavi Etuvainio has been cut.
Swick fails with an attempt to clinch.
Etuvainio misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Swick moves out of range of the body kick from Etuvainio.
Swick moves out of range as Etuvainio throws a body kick.

Etuvainio misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

and Etuvainio counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Swick!

Etuvainio has hold of Swick's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Swick manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Etuvainio prevents Swick from getting the reversal.
Swick throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing.

Etuvainio wants to finish this one by submission but Swick is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Etuvainio.
Swick is trying desperately to improve position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Swick is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Etuvainio manages to capitalize on a mistake by Swick to take his back!
Swick is in bad spot here.

Etuvainio is persistently looking for the submission but Swick is defending it well.
Etuvainio doesn't have the hooks in and Swick manages to turn into his guard.

Etuvainio working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Swick doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Swick manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Etuvainio is breathing heavily.
Swick pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Etuvainio is keeping the position for now.
Swick postures up in Etuvainio's guard and throws a big left but Etuvainio blocks it.

Etuvainio has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Swick can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Swick throws a big right hand that misses.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Swick's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Swick is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Swick trying to control the position from guard on top but Etuvainio is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Swick postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Etuvainio has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Etuvainio throws a right and a left that Swick avoids nicely.
Swick avoids the head kick by Etuvainio.
Swick tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Etuvainio counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Etuvainio throws a right and a left that both miss.
Swick shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Etuvainio but Etuvainio pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Swick chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Etuvainio can pounce on him.
Etuvainio scores with a body shot.

Etuvainio closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Swick tries to improve position but can't.
Etuvainio remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Etuvainio advances nicely into full mount.

Etuvainio quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Etuvainio but it's paid off an Swick is forced to tap! Nice work by Etuvainio.
