Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jin Makarov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Scott Voss (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Scott Voss told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jin Makarov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Scott Voss! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Yves DeLean and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Voss throws a lazy head kick and Makarov holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Makarov decides to pull guard. Voss sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Makarov's guard. Voss is trying to work for a kimura but Makarov is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Voss trying to control the pace. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Voss is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Makarov tries to get to full guard but Voss has control of the leg. Voss seems to be working for a kimura but Makarov defends the submission attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Makarov is not content to let Voss control the position. Makarov trying to hold on to Voss's head to control him but Voss postures up.
Voss is working for an americana but Makarov has been sneaky and has managed to get back to half guard, whilst Voss was thinking about the submission. Voss stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Makarov swivels though and keeps the full guard. Voss wants to control from the top but Makarov keeps moving. Makarov on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Makarov tries to get out of the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Makarov can't keep his opponent in guard - Voss advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Voss wants to work for an arm triangle but Makarov is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Voss is trying for a kimura here. Makarov looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Voss wins by kimura!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Scott Voss!
