Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Debonair Mitchell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, David Bromley!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Hugh Johnson and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mitchell misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Mitchell shoots in but no luck this time.

Bromley shoots in for a takedown but Mitchell shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Mitchell cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Mitchell fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Bromley avoids it really well and circles away.
Bromley closes the distance and clinches up with Mitchell, looking for a takedown. Bromley pushes Mitchell against the cage but Mitchell circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Mitchell shoots in but Bromley avoids the takedown attempt easily.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Mitchell is trying to drag Bromley to the mat but Bromley just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Mitchell wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Bromley, who protects the arm well.
Bromley takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Bromley is not content to let Mitchell control the position.
Bromley really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mitchell. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Mitchell has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Mitchell happy to just control the position for now.
Bromley is trying to get back to half guard.
Mitchell wants to control but Bromley is keeping him busy.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Bromley displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Mitchell.
Mitchell tries to score a power double leg takedown but Bromley sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Mitchell somewhat.
Mitchell shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Bromley defends it nicely.

and Mitchell counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Bromley has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Mitchell can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Mitchell is looking to work some ground and pound but Bromley has wrist control.
Debonair Mitchell overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Bromley can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Mitchell controls the pace.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mitchell has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Bromley wants to get back to his feet but Mitchell is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Mitchell content to stall in guard here.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Debonair Mitchell just wasn't active enough.
Mitchell changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bromley tries to avoid it but Mitchell manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bromley to the ground. Bromley escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
A left lands for Bromley.
Mitchell fails with a takedown attempt.
Bromley will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Bromley darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Bromley is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Mitchell defends it well.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Mitchell, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
