PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bobby Langston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Po Panda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Langston comes into the arena with Al Kapone - You Ain't Stoppin Me blaring out of the sound system. The crowd seem to be enjoying Panda's choice of entrance music: Kung Fu Fighting by Carl Douglas. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Langston plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

It looks like Po Panda has been cut.
Langston lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Langston throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.

Panda uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Langston.

Panda throws a jab but it's blocked by Langston.

Langston escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Panda takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Panda closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Langston's guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Panda accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Langston bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Panda's guard.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Po Panda wasn't active enough on the ground.
Langston tests Panda's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Langston walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Panda checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Langston misses with an uppercut. Panda saw that one coming.
Langston misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Panda keeps the fight on the outside.
Langston throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Langston tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Panda was well out of range. Poor timing from Langston.
Langston throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
That kick from Langston tenderised Panda's leg. Panda is trying to keep his angry face on.
Langston throws a body punch but Panda moves out of range.
Panda shoots in but no luck this time.

Panda misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Bobby Langston has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Po Panda.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Langston lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Panda has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Panda and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Langston tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Panda paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Langston loads up on a big right hand but Panda slips the punch.
Panda shoots in but no luck this time.
Langston thows a body shot but no joy.

Panda bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Langston stops Panda from passing to mount.
The strikes coming from Panda are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Panda advances to full mount.
Panda throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Panda has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Langston.
Panda shoots in for a double leg but Langston sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Langston throws a head kick that half lands.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Panda shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

That has opened up Po Panda's cut even more.
Langston moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Langston throws a looping overhand right but Panda ducks down to avoid it.
Panda fails with the takedown.

Langston pushes Panda up against the cage in a clinch.
Langston is pressed up against the cage. Panda has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Langston down to the mat. Langston avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Langston lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Panda is breathing heavily.

Panda tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Langston's elbow.

Langston tries to work over Panda's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Panda wants a takedown but no success here.
Panda is trying to drag Langston to the mat but Langston just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Langston lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Panda drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Langston gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Panda has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Langston after a bit of a struggle.
Langston doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Panda wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Langston has him pressed against the cage.
Langston is pressed up against the cage. Panda has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Langston down to the mat. Langston avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Panda on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Po Panda's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

Bobby Langston spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
