Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Wanderlei Kang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Neil Hill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Neil Hill enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Wanderlei Kang!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Neil Hill!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Trevor Gratis and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kang moves into the clinch.
Kang has Hill pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Hill manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Kang prevents Hill from breaking the clinch.
Hill has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Hill breaks from the clinch.
A good leg kick by Hill.

Kang gets a takedown into half guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Hill looks like he's trying to stand up.
Hill is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Kang content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Kang wants to stand up but Hill has a hold of him and won't allow it.

Kang working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
It looks like Kang is going to stand back up.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hill can do anything to dispel that myth.
Kang stops Hill from getting back to his feet.
Well, if Kang is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Kang is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Hill taking some punishment here, with Kang in his half guard.
Kang seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Kang content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Kang wants to pass to mount but Hill is defending the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kang looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Kang seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Kang is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Hill is trying to stand up here but Kang is controlling him well.

Kang is pressing down on Hill's thigh, looking to free his foot. Hill is holding on for now.
Hill is trying to stand back up but Kang is controlling him
Kang is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Hill!
Hill looks winded!

Kang stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.

Kang moves into the clinch successfully.
Hill wants to break the clinch but can't.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Kang unloads a knee to the mid-section.

Kang manages to pull guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Hill got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kang has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hill has managed to get both his arms back between Kang's legs - danger averted.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wanderlei Kang dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Hill blocks a low kick nicely.
Hill tries to close the distance and clinch but Kang swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Kang tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Kang shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Hill defends it nicely.
Kang shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Hill but Hill pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Wanderlei Kang is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Kang moves in looking to clinch but Hill pushes him off.
Hill tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kang swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Neil Hill is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Kang keeps the fight on the outside.

and Hill counters with a body kick that stops Kang in his tracks momentarily.
Hill tries a head kick but it misses.
Kang avoids the head kick by Hill.

Hill lands a front kick.
Some wild striking there from Kang.
Kang wants to clinch.

Kang wants to clinch up but Hill keeps it at a distance.

Kang pushes Hill up against the cage in a clinch.
Kang tries a knee to the head but Hill blocks it.
Hill wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Kang has him pressed against the cage.
Kang with an attempt at a knee that misses.

Kang jumps into guard, dragging Hill to the mat.
Kang not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Kang holds on and takes a little breather.
Kang wants to stand and escape but Hill is having none of it.

Hill would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Hill wants to stand and escape but instead Kang has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Hill is breathing heavily.
Kang looking to pass the guard.
Hill can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Kang controls the pace.

Kang lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Hill is looking to stand back up but Kang counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Hill.

Kang tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Kang in particular looking to stall.
Wanderlei Kang overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Kang is trying to control. Hill wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Hill pushes Kang off but Kang dives into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!



Kang drives through and clinches with Hill against the cage.
Kang is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Hill is defending well.

Hill pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Hill misses with a head kick.
Kang is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Kang tries for a takedown but Hill sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Kang tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Hill manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Kang instigates a clinch.
Nice elbow from Kang.
Kang is looking to control Hill's arms but Hill gets an underhook and turns him. Now Kang has his back to the cage.
Kang lands a good knee to the midsection. Hill won't want to take too many of those.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Kang as Hill tries to tie him up.

Hill manages to break the clinch.
No luck for Kang with that takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Wanderlei Kang. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kang tries to clinch but Hill is having none of it.

Kang lunges at Hill with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Hill's hand.
Kang misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
No luck for Kang with that takedown attempt.
Hill misses with a body kick.
Hill moves in looking to clinch but Kang pushes him off.
Kang fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Hill gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Kang slows down the pace here.
Kang has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Hill is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Hill looking to stall.

Kang breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Kang gets a takedown into half guard.
Kang tries to stand but can't do so whilst Hill controls his leg.
Hill is trying to stand back up but Kang is controlling him

Kang seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Kang wants to pass the guard but Hill is defending well.
Kang trying to control the action but Hill is working from the bottom.
Kang prevents Hill from standing back up.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hill is staying active underneath Kang, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Hill is trying to stand up here but Kang is controlling him well.
Neil Hill has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Wanderlei Kang is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Kang works his way into full mount!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kang, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
