Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between David Cote (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Raoul Ramirez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, David Cote! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Raoul Ramirez! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, William Peck and Steve Smith.

Cote clinches with his opponent.
Ramirez drops down looking for an ankle pick but Cote pulls his leg out and moves away.
Cote drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Cote passes Ramirez's left leg - he's now in half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cote working over Ramirez with some ground and pound. Ramirez looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Ramirez is trying to control but can't.
Cote is controlling the pace.
Cote wants to get back to his feet.
Cote moves nicely into side control.

You can see the frustration on Ramirez's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Ramirez is not content to let Cote control the position. Cote lands a nice forearm strike. Cote tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. Cote wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ramirez keeps working. Ramirez tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck. Cote content just to control the position here.

Ramirez really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cote. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Ramirez is working to get back to half guard.
Ramirez is squirming around, avoiding Cote's attempts to control the action. Cote is looking to work his way around to Ramirez's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position.
Cote is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Ramirez is surviving well by controlling Cote's body position as best he can. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Ramirez really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Cote cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Ramirez wants to control his opponent's hands but Cote gets his hands free. So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Cote has the hooks in. Ramirez is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. Cote lands strikes to the head. Ramirez rolls, trying to escape but Cote keeps control of the position.
What can Ramirez do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

Cote scores with punches to the body. Cote trying to control. Cote slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Ramirez is covering up but some of the strikes from Cote are getting through and doing damage.
Cote is punishing Ramirez with some ground and pound. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Cote looking for the choke from the back. A lull in the action here.
Cote has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Cote punishes Ramirez with strikes from the back mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
David Cote dominated that round. That's time! Cote's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Ramirez attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Ramirez gets caught napping as Cote dives in and scores a takedown. Ramirez manages to retain guard. Cote preventing the sweep. David Cote overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Ramirez is adopting a defensive guard. Cote chips away with some ground and pound. Cote prevents Ramirez from getting back to his feet. Cote passes into half guard. Ramirez is trying to control but Cote passes into side control!
Ramirez is looking to get back to his feet here but Cote is keeping cool and he's managed to take Ramirez's back. Cote lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK.
