PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Armed Fightman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Niga Killer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Armed Fightman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Niga Killer!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Killer is trying hard to land a takedown here. Fightman sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Fightman looks for a takedown but Killer sprawls well.

Killer shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Killer was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Killer has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Fightman!
Fightman is trying desperately to improve position.
Fightman is trying to stand.
Killer tries to control but Fightman wriggling away.
Fightman manages to control the position for a moment.

Killer wants to control the action but instead Fightman gets a body lock and reverses into Killer's guard! Nice work!

Killer working for submissions but it's allowed Fightman to get to half guard.

Fightman stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Killer to get to his feet.
Killer fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Fightman manages to avoid it.

Fightman gets a double leg takedown into Killer's guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fightman engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

Fightman stands and steps away. Killer gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Fightman keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Fightman.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Fightman will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Armed Fightman. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Killer looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Fightman is fending him off so far but Killer persists. Nope, Fightman circles away and we're back to standing.

Fightman gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Fightman gets through Killer's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Fightman keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Killer's efforts to push away.

Fightman pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Killer doesn't manage to clinch there - Fightman circles away.
Killer defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Fightman.
Killer lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.


It looks like Armed Fightman has been cut.
Killer misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Killer throws a lazy head kick
and Fightman counters with a head kick.
Fightman is breathing heavily.
Killer changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Fightman tries to avoid it but Killer manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Fightman to the ground. Fightman escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Killer tries to clinch up
and Fightman counters with a head kick. That will keep Killer thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Left hook, right uppercut from Killer.
Killer throws a nice looking combination but Fightman bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

and Fightman moves into the clinch.
Fightman connects with a nasty looking knee right to Killer's face.

Killer is trying to pull guard but Fightman has him pressed against the cage.

Fightman pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Killer looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Fightman is fending him off so far but Killer persists. Nope, Fightman circles away and we're back to standing.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Fightman throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Fightman shoots in looking for a takedown but Killer manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Fightman's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Armed Fightman will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Armed Fightman's cut.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Fightman closes this distance looking for a takedown but Killer circles away.
Killer tries for a takedown but Fightman sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Fightman has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Killer finds it's way round the side to connect with Fightman's head.

Fightman moves into the clinch.
Fightman is trying to pull guard but Killer has him pressed against the cage.
Fightman has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Killer avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Armed Fightman. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Killer wants to get back to striking at distance but Fightman won't allow it.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

Fightman manages to break the clinch.

Fightman fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Killer avoids it really well and circles away.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Killer fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Fightman lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Killer circles away quickly and effectively.
Killer wants to clinch but Fightman slips to the side
and Fightman cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Killer fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Fightman is out of range.
Fightman circles away from the clinch attempt.
Fightman changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Killer tries to avoid it but Fightman manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Killer to the ground. Killer escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Fightman slips a jab and a cross from Killer.

Fightman tries for a takedown but Killer sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Fightman's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Killer is trying to pull guard but Fightman turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Killer is trying to break the clinch but Fightman is controlling him.

Fightman manages to break the clinch.
Armed Fightman is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Fightman shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Killer pinned against the cage. Killer gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Killer shoots in looking for a takedown. Fightman tries to sprawl out of it but Killer keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Fightman manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Killer tries for a takedown but Fightman sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Horrible takedown by Fightman or perhaps it was just good defense by Killer which made him look bad.

Killer shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Killer was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Killer is looking to take a break and control but Fightman is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Fightman dodges the ground and pound from Killer.
Killer wants to control but Fightman is keeping him busy.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fightman regains half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Niga Killer showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!



Excellent takedown into side control there by Killer.
Fightman wants to control but Killer postures up.
Killer is looking to take a break and control but Fightman is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Fightman sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Killer is looking to stall here but Fightman recovers full guard.
Fightman is pulling down on Killer's head to control his posture.

Killer wants to control from the top but Fightman keeps moving.

Fightman is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Killer pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Fightman is keeping the position for now.
Killer is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Fightman is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Niga Killer hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Fightman tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Killer swivels and escapes.
Fightman takes a swing at Killer's ribcage but misses.
Killer is looking to clinch.
Fightman tries to score a power double leg takedown but Killer sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Fightman somewhat.
Niga Killer seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Fightman clinches.
Killer tries to pull guard but Fightman won't allow it.

Fightman landing knees to the body.
Fightman goes for a takedown in the clinch but Killer prevents it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Armed Fightman. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Fightman's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Killer shoots in looking for a takedown but Fightman manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Killer's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Killer.
Fightman leaves Killer with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Killer.
Killer tries to close the distance and clinch up but Fightman swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Fightman throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Killer tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Fightman is in Killer's guard.
Killer utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Fightman passes Killer's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Fightman works his foot free and advances to mount.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Fightman thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Armed Fightman showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Fightman has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
