Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Felipe Copello (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Comrie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Felipe Copello! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mike Comrie! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Stewart Dunkirk and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Copello throws a series of punches but Comrie moves out of range. A punch combination from Copello misses. Comrie dodges the punch combination from Copello.
Copello swinging wildly here.
Comrie shoots for a double leg takedown but Copello sprawls well. He's pushed Comrie's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Comrie looks to clinch and Copello counters with a straight right hand.
That's one minute gone in the round. Copello fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Comrie, pushing him back against the cage. Copello swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Copello is defending well against a takedown attempt. Copello lands a right hand. Comrie goes for a takedown in the clinch but Copello prevents it.
Felipe Copello has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Comrie. Comrie blocks a body shot from Copello. Comrie has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Copello after a bit of a struggle.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A head punch blocked on the inside by Comrie. Copello gets underhooks to prevent Comrie's takedown attempt.
A nice left hand lands by Copello.
Copello displaying some good clinch control by pressing Comrie up against the cage. A short body shot lands from Copello as the two fighters clinch.
Comrie has clasped his hands together around Copello's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Comrie in side control, throwing shots but Copello defends. Comrie remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Copello is trying to control Comrie's posture but Comrie avoids it. Comrie with the ground and pound but Copello regains half guard under the barage of strikes. Comrie scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Comrie lands with a punch from half guard. Comrie working over Copello with some ground and pound. Copello looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Comrie wants to pass to mount but Copello is defending the position. Copello blocking the ground and pound attempt from Comrie. Comrie trying to control the action but Copello is working from the bottom. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Comrie throws a strike but Copello avoids it easily and moves to full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Mike Comrie will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Comrie gets a takedown into half guard. Comrie seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Copello does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Comrie winds up and cracks Copello with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Copello regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Comrie. Copello utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Copello is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Comrie keeps control of the position for the meantime. Comrie is refusing to be controlled, as Copello sits in half guard. Comrie tries to get to full guard but Copello has control of the leg.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Copello content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Felipe Copello wasn't doing enough on the ground. Copello closes the distance and lands a one-two.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Comrie shoots in but Copello avoids the takedown attempt easily. Comrie takes a swing at Copello's ribcage but misses. Comrie shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Copello as he avoids it easily. Comrie closes this distance looking for a takedown but Copello circles away. Felipe Copello has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Comrie. Comrie bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Comrie throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Comrie trying to control the position but Copello is working away. Comrie working the strikes but Copello uses the opportunity to regain half guard. Comrie thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Copello's head. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Comrie looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Copello with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Comrie has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Comrie is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mike Comrie showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Copello tries to stall but Comrie uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Comrie is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Copello throws a combination that misses and Comrie counters with a nice double leg into side control. Copello won't be happy with that. Comrie trying to control the position but Copello is working away. Comrie sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Copello is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Comrie is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Copello will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Comrie looks up at the clock and then as Copello takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Comrie smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Mike Comrie has got the better of the ground game so far. This has been an exciting period of action! The strikes coming from Comrie are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Copello avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Comrie. Comrie wants to control but Copello is keeping him busy. Felipe Copello has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Mike Comrie is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
That's three minutes gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Copello's face as Comrie controls the position. Copello tries to strike from the bottom but misses. Copello prevents Comrie from moving into mount. Comrie creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Copello gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Comrie controlling the pace for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Copello sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Comrie throws a strike but Copello avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Mike Comrie comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Comrie winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
