Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bobby Beats!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Craig Clifton!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Skip Squint and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Clifton or perhaps it was just good defense by Beats which made him look bad.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Clifton feints and as Beats raises his hands in defense, Clifton changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Beats working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Clifton doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Clifton manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Clifton rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Clifton has hold of Beats's hands but Beats slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Beats winds up and cracks Clifton with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Craig Clifton dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Beats is trying hard to land a takedown here. Clifton sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Craig Clifton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
No luck for Clifton with that takedown attempt.
Beats looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Clifton is fending him off so far but Beats persists. Nope, Clifton circles away and we're back to standing.

Clifton shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Clifton was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Clifton has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Beats is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Clifton yanks on the arm and Beats is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Clifton.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:38 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Craig Clifton!
Craig Clifton was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
