The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Brubaker changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Njord looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Brubaker fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Brubaker grinds an elbow into Njord's temple.
Njord is trying to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
You can see the frustration on Njord's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Njord is working to avoid the ground and pound but Brubaker connects with a decent elbow.

Njord is rocked!
Brubaker wants to control but Njord is keeping him busy.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Brubaker lands some shots froms side control.
Njord is still in real trouble! Can Brubaker finish him?
Njord tries to buck Brubaker off but Brubaker is having none of it.
Brubaker scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Njord is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Brubaker can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
