Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fran Kubach (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimbo Parks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kubach kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genuis that is What happened? by H2O. Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Jimbo Parks enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Fran Kubach!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jimbo Parks!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, David Schapiro and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Kubach checks a leg kick.
Parks tries to clinch but Kubach is having none of it.
Kubach shoots in for a takedown but Parks shows good takedown defense.
Kubach fails with a takedown attempt.

Kubach closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Kubach misses with a short punch on the inside.

Parks pulls guard successfully.
Kubach is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Parks really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kubach. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Parks wants to get back to his feet but Kubach is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Kubach slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Kubach stands and steps away. Parks gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

and Kubach counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Kubach has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kubach seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Parks for as long as he can get away with.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Fran Kubach just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Kubach throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Parks clinches but Kubach breaks the clinch
and Kubach counters with a thumping low kick.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Parks wants to clinch but Kubach slips to the side

and Kubach counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Kubach is breathing heavily.
Kubach thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Kubach works his way into side control.
Kubach wants to lay and pray for a moment but Parks keeps working.
Kubach is trying to ground and pound but Parks uses the momentary lack of control by Kubach to regain half guard.
Kubach not landing any meaningful shots this time.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Fran Kubach dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Kubach shoots in but no luck this time.
Parks closes the distance but Kubach moves to the side

and Kubach counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Parks!
Parks is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Kubach dominating with strikes here.

Kubach goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Parks is on top in guard.
Kubach has his hands on Parks's head, controlling the position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Parks wants to pass the guard but Kubach is keeping the position.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Kubach is on top in guard.
Kubach sitting in guard here, content to control.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Kubach decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Kubach shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Parks but Parks pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Parks stuffs the takedown attempt from Kubach. Kubach gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fran Kubach. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Kubach moves into the clinch successfully.

Kubach decides to pull guard.
Kubach managing to control the position.

Parks won't allow Kubach to get back to his feet.
Parks being controlled here momentarily.
Kubach controls Parks momentarily but Parks frees himself.
Parks wants to get up but he can't break Kubach's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Kubach wriggles free and stands up.
Nice body punch from Kubach.

Kubach gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Kubach prevents the takedown attempt.
Parks unloads a knee to the mid-section. Kubach lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

Kubach pulls Parks into guard.
Parks wants to stand but Kubach is controlling his posture from full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Fran Kubach dominated that second round.
That's time! Back to the action! And we move into the final round!


Parks goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Parks circles away from the clinch attempt.

Kubach looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Parks!

Parks is trying to reverse the position but instead Kubach has taken his back - oops!
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kubach really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Parks.

Kubach is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Parks is defending well though. Kubach let's go of the attempt for now.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Parks trying to control but not successfully.
Kubach keeps control of the position as Parks tries to break free.
Parks is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Parks trying to control the hands but Kubach breaks the grip.

Parks defending nicely against the rear naked choke attempt.
Kubach really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Parks.
Jimbo Parks has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Kubach lands with a nice looking elbow that stuns Parks.
