The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Anni Minnemäki and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Desna uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Dzhumagaliev.
A big right from Dzhumagaliev misses.
The fight stays on the outside here - Desna looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Desna darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Desna wants to work for an arm triangle but Dzhumagaliev is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Desna displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Dzhumagaliev throws out the jab.

and Dzhumagaliev counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Desna thinking.
Nikolai Dzhumagaliev seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Dzhumagaliev drops Desna with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Desna looks back up at him and smiles so Dzhumagaliev waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Desna is rocked!
Dzhumagaliev might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Desna shoots in for a takedown but Dzhumagaliev shows good takedown defense.
Oh Desna is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ljeva Desna. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Dzhumagaliev measures up his opponent and throws a superman punch that connects to the jaw! Down goes Desna! The ref steps in, and that's the ball game folks!
