Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Frank Pearsons (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kayne Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Frank Pearsons! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kayne Jr! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Columbo Gatti and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pearsons looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Jr is fending him off so far but Pearsons persists. Nope, Jr circles away and we're back to standing. Pearsons tries to clinch but Jr moves out of range. Kayne Jr seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Pearsons clinches up with Jr and pushes him back against the cage. Pearsons is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Jr wants to break the clinch but can't.
Jr tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Pearsons just stands there and leans against the cage. Pearsons manages to break the clinch.
Pearsons closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Jr tries to get to full guard but Pearsons has control of the leg. Jr is trying to stand up here but Pearsons is controlling him well. Jr controlling the leg, holding on to half guard. Jr is pressing down on Pearsons's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Pearsons trying to control the position from guard on top but Jr is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Jr looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Pearsons has picked Jr up and slammed him! Jr can't keep hold of the triangle and Pearsons manages to pass to side control!
That's one minute gone in the round. Jr is looking to reverse the position. Pearsons tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Pearsons advances to full mount. Pearsons working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Pearsons lands a heavy elbow. Jr tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Pearsons with good strikes from the mount here! Jr is looking to improve his position but Pearsons isn't that keen on the idea. Pearsons looking to control but Jr is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Pearsons landing shots from mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pearsons tries to control but Jr wriggling away. Jr really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Jr is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Jr looks gassed!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pearsons tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Jr is looking to get to half guard. Pearsons looking to control but Jr is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Pearsons gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks! Pearsons tries to clinch but Jr moves out of range. Pearsons tries to clinch there but Jr circles away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Jr gets a takedown into half guard. Pearsons actively working from the bottom here. Pearsons wants to control but Jr is keeping busy and won't allow it. Jr sitting and controlling from the half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Frank Pearsons dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Pearsons fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Jr closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Jr lands in his opponent's guard. Pearsons wants to stand and escape but Jr is having none of it. Jr wants to control from the top but Pearsons keeps moving. Pearsons not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Jr drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Pearsons dives on top into guard. Pearsons has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Jr trying to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jr keeping moving, preventing Pearsons from controlling successfully. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Jr is working an open guard so Pearsons takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Pearsons throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jr's waist but Jr gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Pearsons off to one side. Frank Pearsons is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Jr misses with a takedown attempt and Pearsons counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Jr is controlling Pearsons's posture. Pearsons pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Jr is keeping the position for now. Pearsons preventing the sweep.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jr keeping moving, preventing Pearsons from controlling successfully. Pearsons trying to stand up but can't free himself from Jr's guard. Jr looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Pearsons passes into side control.
Pearsons stands up and beckons Jr to his feet. The fight stays on the outside here - Pearsons looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jr will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Jr takes the fight into the clinch. Pearsons works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Jr is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Pearsons is controlling him. Jr has an active guard here but Pearsons has managed to pass into half guard.
Pearsons is controlling the pace.
Pearsons is keen to just control but Jr is a slippery customer.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jr tries to roll over but Pearsons keeps him under control. Frank Pearsons overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Pearsons wants to get back to his feet.
Pearsons wants to control but Jr is keeping him busy. Pearsons postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Jr to stand up. Pearsons closes the distance and clinches. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Frank Pearsons dominated that second round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Jr shoots in and drives through. Pearsons sprawls well. Jr shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Pearsons counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Pearsons stands up from half guard. Jr misses with a takedown and Pearsons counters with a shoot takedown. Jr fights it but they end up in guard. Frank Pearsons has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kayne Jr. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Pearsons tries to free his leg and advance position but Jr is retaining full guard. Jr has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Jr throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Jr has Pearsons pulled in close to control his posture. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pearsons stopping the sweep attempt from Jr. Jr manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Pearsons manages to get himself to full guard.
Pearsons wants to sweep but no luck. Pearsons working a defensive guard here.
Jr is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Pearsons is looking to stand back up but Jr counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Pearsons. Pearsons is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Jr working away. Pearsons manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Jr is refusing to be controlled, as Pearsons sits in half guard. Pearsons working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Jr's thigh. Jr counters though and makes it back to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jr is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Jr keeping full guard, as Pearsons tries to pass. Pearsons throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Pearsons stays in close to Jr's body and controls the position. Jr has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Pearsons can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Pearsons trying to control but Jr is working from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Jr gets a clinch. Pearsons breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
No joy there for Pearsons, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Jr. Pearsons is trying to control Jr's posture but Jr avoids it. Pearsons sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Frank Pearsons showed his dominance in that final round. Well Pearsons has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
