The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Thee gets a takedown into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Thee looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Thee works his foot free and advances to mount. Thee jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Juarez manages to avoid the submission attempt. Thee is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Juarez has escaped the position, nice work there. Juarez manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Juarez is pressing down on Thee's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Thee tries to free his leg and advance position but Juarez is retaining full guard. Juarez is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Thee really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Juarez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Juarez is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Thee is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Thee is looking to advance position but Juarez has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Juarez has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Thee's face.
Juarez is breathing heavily. Thee working to try and regain half guard.
Juarez with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Juarez prevents Thee from getting the reversal. Thee is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Juarez pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Thee keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Juarez is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Thee is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Thee flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Juarez anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Thee and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Juarez slips an arm under Thee chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Juarez has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Juarez is squeezing on Thee like an anaconda would it's prey. Thee fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
