PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jose Medrado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Demon Burn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jose Medrado!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Demon Burn!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Paulsen Ambrosius and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Medrado moves out of range of the leg kick from Burn.
Jose Medrado seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Burn lands a jab to the head.


It looks like Jose Medrado has been cut.
Burn throws a series of punches but Medrado moves out of range.
Burn darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Burn looks to land a combination but Medrado avoids it well.
Medrado shoots for a takedown but Burn saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Burn throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Nice takedown defense from Burn. No joy for Medrado on that attempt.
Burn misses with a few strikes there.

Medrado manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Burn on his heels. He'll look to pass Burn's guard now, I'm sure.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Burn keeping moving, preventing Medrado from controlling successfully.
Medrado stops Burn from standing up.
Medrado stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Burn swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Medrado trying to control but Burn is working from the bottom.
Burn wants to get back to his feet but Medrado is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Medrado content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Medrado postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Burn is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Medrado, into his guard.
Burn has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Medrado is proving hard to escape from.

Medrado is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Medrado had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Burn defends it easily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Burn has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Medrado is proving hard to escape from.

Burn wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Medrado's closed guard. He's half up but Medrado has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Medrado pivots and extends the arm, Burn falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Medrado! Well done that man!

Jose Medrado seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
